The glass, ceramics, cement and non-metallic minerals sector is broadly covered on the BICS eligible-sector list — flat and hollow glass, glass fibres, technical glassware, technical ceramics and ceramic insulators, and cement, lime, plaster, ready-mixed concrete and mortars all appear. The AND-rule still applies to your specific products, and crushed aggregate or inert fill on its own is excluded — but genuine manufacture across this sector qualifies.
This is one of the most comprehensively covered sectors: the energy-intensive furnace and kiln processes at its core — glass melting, ceramic firing, cement and lime production — are squarely on the list. The line to watch is between genuine manufacture and mineral handling that stops short of it.
Which glass, ceramics & mineral activities qualify?
These are all on the eligible-sector list:
- Glass: flat glass, shaping and processing of flat glass, hollow glass, glass fibres, and other/technical glass — including cullet converted to primary glass.
- Ceramics: ceramic insulators and insulating fittings, and other technical ceramic products.
- Cement & minerals: cement, lime and plaster, ready-mixed concrete, mortars, and other non-metallic mineral products.

Site mix
Furnace- and kiln-dominated sites usually clear the 25% floor easily and land strong pro-rata bands, but forming, curing, annealing and finishing loads still need clean attribution to defend the highest band.
What it's worth
